Julia’s Garden

Located in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Julia’s Memorial Community Garden stands as a heartfelt tribute to Julia Gholson, the daughter of Charlie Gholson, who tragically lost her battle with cancer. After her passing, Julia’s former home remained vacant for several years. Inspired by Angela Turner’s vision to bring a community garden to Vicksburg, Charlie Gholson cleared the land and generously donated it for this meaningful project
“And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”
